Horse Camp Rules

Arrival IS FROM 12PM.  If you wish to use the Farm Ride on arrival day, you must arrange this directly with Somerford Park.  Departure is by 3.30pm on the last day of camp.

Two bales of shavings will be provided per stable.  If you require extra bales you may either bring your own or purchase these directly from Somerford Park at £7.00 per bale.  You MAY NOT use any other type of bedding other than shavings.  At the end of camp you MUST muck out into the centre aisle, leaving your stable empty and swept clean.  You are welcome to take any clean shavings home with you.  There will be a £10 penalty for any stable not left clean.

You are not permitted to leave any stickers or deface the stable doors in any way.

Please ensure the haylage area is kept tidy as we will all be using this.

Please use the large waste bin near the Pavilion for any domestic rubbish.

Please keep noise levels down after 10pm and do not visit horses during the night as it upsets the other horses.

Please keep feed time of horses to 7.00am for breakfast and 7pm for dinner.  If we feed all the horses at the same time there will be no upset horses.

Do not take chairs out of the Pavilion and use them around the arenas.

You must have your own suitable insurance.  Each horse is the responsibility of the owner, and all activities are at your own risk.

Suitable protective clothing to be worn at all times when mounted i.e. hardhat to current approved standard with chinstrap fastened.  We advise you wear body protectors.

Somerford Park is a working equine farm and therefore non-horse related activities are no permitted.  The use of bicycles is not allowed.

Please use the muck trailer to muck out stables and horseboxes.  DO NOT dispose of this onto the fields.

All horses must be up to date with their vaccinations and worming.

Please help poo pick the arenas as and when required.

You may use the X Country.

Please ONLY use the allocated arenas at lesson times.

No Dogs allowed.

If you require electric hook up this is NOT included in your camp fees and is payable to Somerford Park.  Please let me know if you require electric hook up at £31.50 for the 3 days.  You will need to provide your vehicle registration number so we can arrange the electric hook up stickers to be displayed in your vehicles.

We ask for everyone to be respectful of each other so that we may be allowed to use the facilities again.  Abusive or threatening behaviours will result in immediate expulsion from camp.

Camp deposit of £50 is required to secure your place.  This is non refundable if we cannot find a replacement camper. Balance of your camp fees of is payable 8 weeks prior to camp.

Please inform us of your riding ability so we can pair you up with someone of the same capability and you can compete in your relevant section on the last day of camp.
